Procedure Description:
Small volumes of fat are suctioned from the abdomen or buttocks and injected into facial lines or depressions or into the lips.
What To Expect:
Transferring and grafting a person's own fat into facial creases and depressions produces a decrease in the depth of lines and creases. One advantage over some of the other soft tissue fillers is that expense is not so dependent on volume of filler used.
Preprocedure:
During your pre-operative consultation in our office, Dr. Harvey will take a medical history, perform an examination, take clinical photographs, and recommend and explain options that are appropriate for you. Patient Coordinators, Patricia Gottschalk and Mamie Lee, will discuss financial information and assist in scheduling your procedure.
Postprocedure:
Following the fat transfere there is some bruising present both in the donor area and the recipient site. Because much of the fat is absorbed over the first few weeks some overcorrection and swelling are usually present.
